I am just not good at this blogging thing! I barely have time to do laundry, I definitely can't find the time for this. My 9, 7, 7 yr olds are not what you will call 'eager students'. They would rather play the whole day outside on the trampoline, or just be running around and riding bikes or playing with Legos or just yapping. They don't want to do school. By the time we finish school, I am exhausted and blogging is the last thing on my mind.
This is our 4th week of school. My 2nd graders are enjoying math and School Song Latin. Everything else is done but not enjoyed, according to them. We actually did art today. We are doing Evan-Moore's How to teach art to children. We still haven't received our WWE workbook 2 yet, so we are doing Year 1 of the textbook as review. History , we are doing SOTW Book 1. Tomorrow, we are going to make a model of the Nile. I will post a picture of it.
My 9 year old does science, art, music and history with the twins. For science, we are doing Mr Q's Classical Life science. For a free curriculum, this is suprisingly meaty, and so far we are really enjoying it.
My eldest is still having problems with the higher order thinking questions in CLE reading 7. We gave up on CLE LA 7 and stated Rod and Staff English 7 instead. He was making too many careless mistakes on CLE LA 7. I think he was overwhelmed with all the different stuff on each lesson.. Rod and Staff is going much better. I bought IEW SWI B two days ago. I can now safely say I own all the writing programs out there. Thank goodness he is also doing Home2Teach writing classes.
Yeah, my mom is coming to stay with me in a few weeks. She will be a big help.

Labor Day
So much for taking a rest from our labors. I had school today with the kids. Jarel started Spanish Bible, and Science today. He is doing the Junior High Program from United Streaming and finishing up some books from last year. For science, we started Prentice Hall Science Explorer Forces and Motion. Bible, he is using Discover Quest : Genesis. The others just did math, LA and reading although Reyden also wrote a story. Callan had quizzes in both LA and reading. Then , they spent the rest of the day on the trampoline.
Then I cooked and did the mountain of laundry I had.
Was at revelation Generation this past Saturday with the rest of the family. This is a outdoor music concert and it was great. Saw Newsboys, Kutless, Toby Mac and more perform.

I am so not good at this!
This is my final attempt at blogging after 3 failed attempts. I can't seem to be able to keep up with this. Here are the precious reasons I fail so much at this- my 4 precious darlings.
This is our first week of homeschooling after 8 weeks off. It hasn't been as bad as I expected. We have a very modified schedule to start with for the 3 younger ones. They are doing CLE math 3 and 5, CLE LA 2 and 4 and CLE Reading 2 and 4. My 7th grader has been having a harder time. He started an online writing class 3 weeks ago and even though, he also has a modified start, it has been very hectic for me. He is doing this week CLE math 7, CLE LA 7, CLE reading 7, Apples and Pears spelling, and Rod and Staff for writing. We are also continuing our state study, this week we are doing New Hamphsire. We are also reading and discussing the book Amos Fortune, Free Man. He will also do logic tomorrow( Fallacy Detective and Mind Benders CD)
Next week we start geography(continue Journey to Africa) and add science ( PH Science Explore- Forces and Motion), and spanish. My twins and 9 year old add geography(one day a week) and history (SOTW). We will see how this goes.
